Intro
The globalization of the international markets has led to a change in all business areas, especially regarding the manufacturing and the company organizations. Market requirements such as the needs, problems and wishes of the customers as well as market- oriented design instruments are given more priority.
To meet these requirements, SAB S.à r.l. was founded in 1998 as an independent company in a group of specialists focusing in railway systems.
2004
The company was taken over by Robert Schweich and Mario Kratz in 2004. The product range was expanded to include steelwork and blast furnace components.
2005
Due to the increase of our production capacities we moved to the industrial area „Am Potaschberg“ in Grevenmacher, Luxembourg, at the end of the year.
2006
The beverage industry, both the tobacco and cigarette industry, as well as various customers in the area of series production become aware of us. Since then we design and manufacture different types of equipment as well as spare parts for the above-mentioned sectors.
2008
We received our first large-scaled project: Engineering and supply of one complete set of tuyere stocks for the blast furnace No. 3 – Arcelor Mittal Bremen, Germany.
2009
Despite the recession we invested in the future and expanded our production area by another 800sqm.
2010
As a result of our continuous product improvement, we were awarded with a contract to equip a complete blast furnace for Arcelor Mittal Romania.
2011
Granted with the worldwide patent for the energy-saving tuyere stock.
In the same year, SAB was certified according the official quality management system DIN EN ISO 9001.
2012
Our production capacity grew to a high level in the recent years, so that we decided to build a new production area at the industrial area „Am Potaschberg“on a green field.
2013
This year we moved into the new factory halls at Potaschberg, Grevenmacher.
The area of the new building consists of 4500sqm production and 750sqm administration.
2014
Foundation of a 50/50 joint venture company called VCL (Valve Competence Luxemburg S.A.) with Paul Wurth S.A. as technology provider for the integrated steel industry.
2017
In order to meet the constantly growing order volume and the increasing demands of our customers, we were forced to double our production area to about 9000sqm and the office surface to 1500sqm.
2019
The management team led by Mario Kratz (Chief Executive Officer) was rearranged by Francis Gaspar (Chief Operating Officer) and Uwe Bock (Chief Technology Officer).
Robert Schweich took his well-deserved retirement in December 2019, but will continue to assist us in an advisory capacity.
Today
Our current objectives are to increase our machining capacity. In addition, we are starting to introduce a dual training system according to German standards.
Together with our partners we form the alternative.
In the recent years the company SAB has established itself as a specialist in design, engineering and manufacturing of equipment for blast furnace.
Through both our variety of spoken languages and our technical and commercial know-how, we are always in a position to give you short-term solutions to your requests.
